Syed Abdullah bin Syed Abd Kadir

Chairman

Malaysian male, aged 66, is an Executive Director of YTL Corporation Bhd. He has held this position since 1999. He is also a director of several other companies. He graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK in 1977. He has been a Trustee of Yayasan Scomi, now named Yayasan Cerdik, since its incorporation in 2005.

He is also a Trustee of Yayasan Tawfiq, a charity and dakwah NGO, since formation in 2018.

Dato’ Wan Shaharudin bin Wan Mahmood

Board Member

Malaysian male, age 59, is currently the Executive Vice President of Sapura Secured Technologies Sdn Bhd. He also hold several board positions in the Sapura Group and also a board member of University Utara Malaysia.

A graduate of Management of Science from Southern Illinois University, USA. Wan Shah has been an active committee member of the Malaysian Defense Industry Council since 2000.

He was appointed to the board of Trustee of Yayasan Cerdik in 2019.

Abu Zaharoff bin Abu Bakar

Board Member

He is Chartered Accountant by profession and having 31 years of working experience
in the corporate business and operation management. A Member of The Malaysian
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Member of Malaysian Institute of
Accountants, Member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. He graduated with a
Bachelor Science (honours) degree from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK.
He has been with the board since 2010.

Azlina binti Mohd Salleh

Board Member

Puan Azlina has been with the board since the beginning and had been very active with the Yayasan activities.

Dato’ Edlin bin Ghazaly

Board Member

Born in Negeri Sembilan, he received his early education at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) and King George V in Seremban. Upon graduation from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), he chambered at Messrs Paul Chong & Kraal, and later joined the firm as legal assistant. In 1992, he was made a partner and remained on board until 1994 when he left to establish his own practice. He was on several boards of GLC Subsidiaries and Public Listed Companies.

He has been with the board of YC since 2018.

Yayasan Cerdik (formerly known as Yayasan Scomi) was incorporated in March 2005. It was the brainchild of En Shah Hakim Zain who started the foundation together with his eleven (11) colleagues who made individual contributions to the foundation to commence its course of operations.

Initially, the foundation was the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Scomi with its key objective to aid the underprivileged, focusing on education for staff and other selected needing recipients. However, the assistance was expanded further to cover medical, other community initiatives and special projects with the increasing needs from this group of recipients across the nation.
